Freeze warnings, frost advisories in effect for parts of Michigan

(WXYZ) — If you're heading to northern Michigan on Friday, be prepared for a chilly Saturday morning. The National Weather Service has issued freeze warnings and frost advisories for most of the northern Lower Peninsula and the eastern part of the Upper Peninsula.

According to the NWS, a Frost Advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday for Leelanau, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Manistee, Wexford, Gladwin, Arenac, Beaver Island and surrounding islands, western Mackinac, Clare, Isabella, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Newaygo, Oceana and Osceola counties.

The NWS said temperatures as low as 34 degrees will result in frost formation.

A Freeze Warning is in effect from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. for Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet, Iosco, Kalkaska, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle and Roscommon counties.

The NWS said low temperatures ranging from the middle 20s to lower 30s are possible.
