The 36th District Court in Detroit announced it will waive all late fees, penalties and warrant costs to celebrate Independence Day.

The amnesty program will go for four days, between Saturday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 4.

Payments on outstanding tickets need to be made in person at 421 Madison Ave. between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m, Saturday through Monday or between 8 a.m and 12 p.m. on Tuesday.

The full amount owed must be paid in order to have late fees waived.

The 36th District Court is the largest district court in the state of Michigan and one of the busiest courts in the United States.
