Gas prices continue to fall in Michigan; Higher than this time last year

As summer gets closer every single day, gas prices continue to fall across Michigan and metro Detroit, according to AAA Michigan.

AAA reports that gas prices decreased about eight cents across the state, bringing the state-wide average down to $2.34 per gallon. It's actually up about 12 cents from this time last year.

In metro Detroit, the average price is down six cents with the current average of $2.36 per gallon, which is 14 cents more than last year.

The lowest gas prices can be found in the Flint area, according to AAA, where it is about $2.24 per gallon. Jackson has the highest prices for the sixth week in a row with $2.45 per gallon.

According to AAA, Michigan ranks 23rd in the nation for the most expensive gas price and third in the nation for the biggest weekly change.
