(WXYZ) — Gas prices in Michigan fell 6 cents compared to last week, according to AAA Michigan.

Drivers in the state are now paying an average of $2.06 per gallon, which is the same price as this time last month but 62 cents less than this time last year.

In a report from the Energy Information Administration, demand for gas decreased last week.

"Pump prices will likely continue to decline as demand drops due to fewer road trips taken in the fall," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA - The Auto Club Group.

In metro Detroit, gas also decreased by about 3 cents to $2.11 per gallon.

Marquette at $2.29, metro Detroit at $2.11 and Saginaw at $2.08 had the most expensive prices. Lansing had the cheapest average price at $1.92 per gallon.
