DETROIT (WXYZ) — The king of funk George Clinton is giving major props to the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences choir for their rendition of the hit "One Nation Under A Groove."

Clinton posted on his official Twitter and Facebook accounts Monday congratulating the soulful young students on their cover video of the song originally performed by George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

"Giving you more of what you're funkin for!" Clinton wrote in the shared post.

The video was made in partnership with VisitDetroit.com. Students can be seen singing and dancing at popular Detroit locations such as the Detroit Institute of Arts, Eastern Market and the Charles H. Wright African American Museum. The group also makes stops at local eateries like Yum Village and Narrow Way Coffee & Shop on the Livernois Avenue of Fashion.

The original song was released in 1978, but the students brought new life to a classic hit.
