SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — St. David's Episcopal Church in Southfield is honoring Good Friday by giving away crosses to all who come.

Organizers say the Olive Wood crosses that will be distributed are from Jerusalem and are free of charge.

For the day of prayer, robed ministers will pray with you and hand out the crosses when you drive up to the south entrance of the church located on Twelve Mile Road from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"Good Friday is the day the that put the Cross on the map. Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we contemplate just how much God loves us and wants everyone to know the depths of that love by giving a ways crosses and offering Good Friday prayers,” said the Very Rev. Chris Yaw, rector of St. David’s Parish.

The church will also hold three indoor services on Good Friday: one at noon, Good Friday for Children at 3:00 p.m and a third at 7:00 p.m.
