(WXYZ) — The snowstorm moving through Southeast Michigan has official caused the closure of all state government offices in the Lower Peninsula.

Michigan Secretary of State offices are also closed throughout lower Michigan.

Michigan.gov tweeted out Monday that those offices will close at 10 a.m. "due to the emergency snow conditions impacting the state of Michigan."

The impeding snowstorm, which is scheduled to move across metro Detroit starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until midnight, is expected to bring 3 to 7 inches of snow and bitterly cold temperatures, which will last through the week.

  • Along with more than 800 school closings across metro Detroit, major businesses have also closed, including Tanger Outlet mall in Grand Rapids, according to the shopping center's website. Numerous metro Detroit cities have declared snow emergencies, which most will last until Tuesday morning. View the full list of snow emergencies by county here.
