Congress is not done looking into the Flint water crisis.

Another hearing is set for next week in Washington in front of another committee.

Tonight, some members of the first committee are leveling new accusations about cooperation from governor rick Snyder.

Michigan Congressman Fred Upton is chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He’s set this new hearing. It is not yet clear who will testify.

The ranking Democrat in the first committee is demanding more answers and even a face-to-face meeting with the governor here in Michigan.

When Governor Rick Snyder testified last month before Congress, he may have thought he answered all the questions.

Far from it.

A letter today from ranking Democrat Cummings to Snyder:

Your actions raise grave concerns about the accuracy of your testimony

Cummings is focused on the governor’s 75 point action plan to fix flint, asking Snyder for email and documents showing how this was developed, and why it was withheld from Flint Mayor Karen Weaver until after the governor’s his high profile congressional testimony.

Cummings also cites 15 officials who are refusing to cooperate with the congressional investigation including Rich Baird, the governor’s main man in Flint.

Is the governor letting them ignore congress? They’ve been involved all along.

A statement from the governor tonight says he is willing to meet with the congressman, but it is not set.

It goes on, the timing of this letter going to the media at the same time it went to the governor, hints at finger pointing rather than real problem solving.
