Positive vibes flow from Aliyah.  This 13-year-old who’s in foster care always tries to keep a glass-half-full attitude.

“Some people think I’m funny and also positive in different situations,” said Aliyah.

Her worker agreed. “Aliyah maintains a sense of humor despite any hardships she may face,” she explained.

When it comes to her interests, she’s a big animal lover.

“Whenever I grow up, I want to be a dog trainer and a marine biologist,” she said.

“Probably within 10 years, I want to be training professional dogs,” she explained.

“What I like about [marine biology] is the ocean can be pretty sometimes, and you can see different animals that [live] under the water,” she added.

She also enjoys video games and creating her own characters on paper.

“I like to draw cartoons and video-game-type cartoons,” said Aliyah.

Spending time drawing is one of her favorite things.

She hopes to travel more in the future with her future adoptive family.

“I really want to go on vacations -- probably visit the Smokey Mountains or see Disney Land,” she said with a smile.

Going to see the Miami Seaquarium or Michigan Adventures would also be right up her alley.

“I traveled a lot when I was little. I’m actually from Kentucky, and [came] through Indiana, then Mississippi, then Arizona, then here to Michigan,” said Aliyah.

“I’m looking for a family that has dogs and parents and probably another child in their family that’s probably lonely and wants another brother or sister,” she said.

“I want a family that’s a loving family that cares about you, that respects you,” she added.
