Grant Me Hope: Isaiah is a cool, outdoorsy kid who likes Legos, video games, and animals

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Riding his bike, walking in the woods, and horseback riding are a few of the activities Isaiah enjoys doing. He also hopes to one day share these activities with a family he can call his own.

The 12-year-old foster child has been waiting to be adopted since August of 2015.

“My friends would describe me as funny, friendly, kind, respectful, caring, and funny,” said Isaiah.

“I like to do math in school and learn new things like fractions, division, stuff like that,” he added.

“My favorite animal is a white tiger. I also like riding horses and learning new things about animals. Why I like horses and what about them I like is that they can run really fast, and that when you get to ride them it’s really fun,” he explained.

Like many youngsters these days, he likes video games as well as TV shows and movies -- like Spongebob Squarepants and the movie Tron.

He’d like to be a soldier when he grows up.

“Because I can serve the country and do what’s right,” he said proudly.

If he had three wishes, the first one would be for a family.  The second one would be to have a lot of Lego sets to build.  The third wish would be having a dog to take care of.

“I like Star Wars Legos. The coolest thing I ever built was probably the Death Star out of Legos,” he said.

“My perfect family would probably be a Mom and Dad, a brother, a sister that are older and a dog,” he explained.

When he’s adopted, he hopes to go to the beach with his family, enjoy outdoor activities together, and watch movies with each other.

“Adoption means to me a family that is caring, loving, respectful, hard workers -- stuff like that. I just really wanted a family,” he added.
