Grosse Pointe may close schools due to declining enrollment

GROSSE POINTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Schools could be closing in Grosse Pointe due to declining enrollment.

For the past 15 years, enrollment has been declining at Grosse Pointe Public Schools.

Superintendent Gary Niehaus will present different scenarios where specific schools would close at a "Blue Ribbon" school board meeting Thursday night. He will prsent bond savings and projected land value.

The school district will be holding town hall meetings throughout the month of April and into May to discuss options with the public.
