HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Hamtramck man has been charged in connection with threatening a judge.

Zijad Talic, 41, allegedly made death threats regarding Judge Alexis Krot of 31st District Court via texts to a third party.

At the time of the threats, prosecutors say Krot was presiding over a case where Talic is charged with Felonious Assault and Assault and Battery of a male complainant from Hamtramck.

Hamtramck police received information about the threats and conducted an investigation leading to Talic.

On July 2, when officers tried to arrest Talic, he allegedly fled in his car and attempted to elude them. He eventually stopped and was arrested.

Talic has been charged with one count each of Threat of Terrorism, Obstruction of Justice, Fleeing and Eluding Third Degree and Malicious Use of a Telecommunication Device. Talic was given a $150,000 cash bond and is expected to appear in court again on July 20.
