(WXYZ) — With the Woodward Dream Cruise taking place this weekend, there are also a number of great events happening around metro Detroit!

Here's a list of 7 other things to do in your neighborhood:

St. Clair Shores Aquafest - St. Clair Shores

The St. Clair Shores Aquafest is a free festival that's fun for the entire family. The weekend festival features fun stuff like a petting zoo, face painting and a watermelon eating contest. The festival, held at Blossom Heath Park, will begin 11 a.m. Saturday and end 3 p.m. Sunday.

African World Festival - Detroit

The 37th annual African World Festival is bringing over 150,000 attendees to the Wright Museum. The free 3-day festival will feature performances, poetry, arts and crafts, African drumming and dance, hundreds of vendors, food and more. The festival starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Ann Arbor Blues Festival - Ann Arbor

The 50th anniversary of the Ann Arbor Blues Festival will celebrate what was once called the greatest lineup of blues musicians ever assembled. The festival will be held at the Washtenaw Farm Council Fairgrounds from Friday through Sunday.

Michigan Comic Con - Detroit

If you're a huge comic book fan, Michigan Comic Con is for you. The convention will be held at the Cobo Center and will feature exhibitions including comic books, magazines, toys, games, Star Wars, Star Trek, anime, manga, cosplay, artwork, sketches and apparel. The convention will be held from noon to midnight Friday, 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Body LOVE: Body Positive Pool Party - Detroit

This inclusive event is held by Slay Inc, an LGBTQ+ events company. The event is Detroit's first body positive pool party - organizers are encouraging all shapes, sizes, genders and aliens to join! The party will run from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Common Pub Detroit on Sunday.

Michigan Jewish Food Festival - Eastern Market

The Michigan Jewish Food Festival connects food and sustainability with Jewish tradition. Last year's festival had over 6,200 attendees. The festival will be held on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Yalla Eat! Culinary Walking Tours - Dearborn

The Arab American National Museum is offering these walking tours that offer immersive culinary experiences. Guests can explore both Michigan and Warren avenues in East Dearborn on the immersion into Arab American culture. The walking tours begin Aug. 17 and end on Sept. 21.
