One day after the election, Hispanic and Muslim communities are voicing their opinions about Donald Trump's presidential victory on Tuesday.
Hillary Jimenez, an 8-year-old from Southwest Detroit, said she feels Trump is mean.
"A little bit. Yes, it's because he doesn't like the Mexicans. My family is Mexican" she said.
Another child, 9-year-old Yaidimar Navaraez, said she "hates Donald Trump."
"He wants to build a wall and send all Mexicans back to Mexico," she said. My dad is Mexican."
She adds, "Donald Trump needs to understand there are kids in this community that have the risk of losing their parents if he does what he said. Some people don't understand kids need parents to grow up with."
Adults also share their own personal feelings, saying they believe in the U.S. no matter the results. But, they have serious concerns.
"Confusion, basically we have no idea what's going to happen. We are in shock" said Liliana Narvaez, a naturalized citizen from Mexico.
Also, sharing fears are leaders in the Muslim American community.
The Arab American Civil Rights League founder Nabih Ayad says, "We must all come together as a nation, and recognize that all faiths and backgrounds need to be included and treated fairly."
