Home invasion suspect leads police on a chase in Redford

A 22-year-old man now faces a list of criminal charges after allegedly committing a home invasion and then leading Redford Police on a chase.

It happened Thursday around 7:15 a.m.

Police got a call that someone broke into the home and spotted the man in a red pickup truck nearby.

In police dashcam, video exclusively obtained by 7 Action News, the suspect can be seen driving off at a high rate of speed.

Officers were able to stop the suspect’s vehicle by Telegraph Road before the suspect was attempting to get on the service drive of I-96.

The suspect then got out of his vehicle and ran across the freeway. He was arrested once he got to the other side.

He will be charged with Home Invasion Second Degree, Fleeing Police Officer Second Degree, and two counts of Malicious Destruction Of Police Property.
