A Sanilac County homeowner allegedly shot and killed two suspected home intruders Sunday morning, police said.
It happened at about 5 a.m. on the 4300 block of Holbrook Road in Greenleaf Township, near N. Van Dyke Road and Bay City Forestville Road in the thumb area.
The homeowner told investigators three suspects entered his home and shot him in the leg. That's when he returned fire and struck two suspects, deputies said.
One of the suspects was found dead inside the home, and the other was located inside a vehicle in a ditch at Holbrook and Germania Road, deputies added.
The vehicle was reported stolen from the Flint area in October 2017.
Deputies said the incident remains under investigation, and all suspects involved are in custody.
