VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Van Buren Township police are investigating a homicide inside a home in the community.
According to police, it's happening at a home on Fay Dr. near Ecorse and Belleville.
Police say they received a call around 1:30 a.m. from a man saying his father just called and told him he killed his mother.
When police arrived at the home, they found a 62-year-old woman dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Michigan State Police and the Berrien County Sheriff's Office located the suspect traveling west on I-94 in Berrien County and arrested him without incident. The suspect is being held in the Berrien County Jail pending pickup by the Van Buren Township Police Department.
