HOLLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) — UPDATE: The school said the shelter in place has ended and students can resume normal activities.

Hope College in west Michigan is asking students to shelter in place because a suspect in a violent crime is believed to be near campus.

Right now, the college hasn't released many details, other than asking students to shelter in place.

The school is located in Holland, southwest of Grand Rapids.
