HUNTINGTON WOODS, Mich. (WXYZ) — "Drag Queen Storytime" is a children's story session hosted by a drag queen. It is well-received by some, and unwanted by others.

A storytime took place Saturday at Huntington Woods Public Library on Scotia Road, and it was met with protesters outside the library.

Organizers were aware protesters would be outside the library before the event began, and decided the program would continue due to popular support from Huntington Woods residents.

The program began December 2017 "as part of a variety of children's programming designed to promote literacy and reading ...in addition to creating a more equitable and inclusive society."
