I think we all can relate: we're feeling strange, so we surf the internet to see what might be happening with our health and, in a couple of minutes, convince ourselves we have an incurable disease.
In an effort to avoid causing stress for searchers, Google is aiming to deliver more accurate results that are easier to navigate when it comes to our health queries.
The internet giant has announced they are rolling out a symptom search feature for users on mobile.
So, when you look up specific symptoms in the Google app, like headache on one side, you'll get a list of related conditions. Maybe it's a migraine or a tension headache?
Individual symptom searches like for just headache or rash will prompt an overall description, options for treatment and when it's probably time to head to the doctor.
Google notes they worked with a team of doctors to review symptom information-and experts at Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic evaluated related conditions.
The feature will be rolling out over the next couple of days, according to Google. Of course, the internet giant wants people to know they are just there for informational support, but if you want medical advice, it's best to head to a doctor.
