'I'm safe.' Michigan lawmakers react to violent demonstration at U.S. Capitol

(WXYZ) — Michigan lawmakers are reacting to the violent demonstration at the U.S. Capitol that has left the building locked down, people breaching the building and lawmakers sheltered in their office.

This is not representative of majority of people even who voted for President Trump," Rep. Elissa Slotkin said. "It takes an egregious act like this for many people to realize that you have to make a call, decision on how you want your country to proceed."
