Earlier today, Pelosi held a press conference to call for Conyers' resignation

The Congressman is facing a number of sexual harassment allegations.

Reed said Pelosi did not elect the Congressman and she doesn't have a say in whether he resigns.

"She sure as hell won't be the one to tell the Congressman to leave," said Reed at a press conference outside the family's house.

He also noted that there are more allegations against Al Franken than Conyers.

"Nancy Pelosi is going to have to explain what is the discernible difference between Al Franken and John Conyers?"

Reed said that Conyers was taken to the hospital late Wednesday night with chest pains, lightheadedness and dizziness.

"He's thinking about his health, he's thinking about getting well."

There were no further updates on his condition.
