LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — Kittens that were left in a sealed box outside a Livonia veterinary hospital Wednesday will soon be available for adoption.

The seven kittens were left by their previous owner outside the office door of Tail Waggers 1990.

"Why didn't you come in and handle this properly," a post on the clinic's Facebook page read. "In this heat, they could have all DIED!"

The box was sealed with tape and had holes cut out on the sides with a note attached to the top that read, "I'm sorry to bother you guys with this but I can't take care of these kittens and heard good things about you guys, so please find them homes. The calico hurt her front left leg. I'm sorry to just drop them off like this, but I didn't know what else to do."

Someone described as a "faithful friend" of the animal hospital found the kittens and took them indoors, according to the post.

The author of the Facebook post added that they would like to get in contact with the previous owner to learn more about the animals, and that the conversation would be confidential.

"I'm here to help, not put you down," the post adds.

The kittens will be examined and checked out by a doctor at the animal clinic before they'll be available for adoption in the coming week.
