Whether it was a pawn shop, a liquor store, CVS or Target, we found last minute shoppers looking for gifts all around metro Detroit on Christmas Eve.

We witnessed the mad rush to get those last minute presents. Fortunately, some smaller stores decided to stay open until midnight.

At American Jewelry & Loan, owner Les Gold says "Gold and diamond jewelry are still our best sellers." His customers were also buying watches and guitars. There were even some buying Star Wars stuff at the world famous pawn shop.

At Target in Southfield, doors stayed open until 11 p.m. We saw many shoppers there buying toys and dolls for kids. CVS also has a packed parking lot with shoppers scrambling to registers.

At Park Place Liquor Store in Southfield, many came to buy spirits and other treats. "They were happy to see us stay open till midnight," said owner Brandon Foumia.

The Christmas Eve deals were good for almost everyone. We met some shoppers at Target who said the store had run out of Christmas trees. Yes, Christmas trees.
