Lawyers representing pets is a recent growing trend, with more attorneys now specializing in working for four-legged clients.

The Animal Legal Defense Fund says "animal law is a relatively new, and growing, specialty."

The American Bar Association even hosts a symposium about animal shelter law and some law schools are even offering classes.
