NEW YORK (WXYZ) — Lincoln Motor Company has pulled the cover off a brand new, small luxury SUV at the New York Auto Show. The 2020 Lincoln Corsair was inspired by the Latin word "cursus," which means journey.

It's a two-row SUV that embraces the elements of the full-size Lincoln Navigator and three-row Lincoln Aviator, and features an interior that has hand-selected materials and focuses on quietness.

To ensure a quiet ride, designers gave the Corsair a dual-wall dashboard in the engine compartment, and instead of an alert, six unique symphonic chimes will inform drivers of problems that include an open fuel door or unbuckled seat belt. Those chimes were also recorded by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

“Entering the fastest-growing luxury segment, the all-new Corsair is artistically crafted, expertly designed and infused with our unwavering attention and commitment to detail; it’s unapologetically Lincoln,” says Joy Falotico, president, The Lincoln Motor Company. "Corsair’s addition to the portfolio means Lincoln now has a full family of SUVs to exceed the needs of our luxury clients.”

The Corsair has two turbocharged, four-cylinder engine options. One is a 2.0 liter with 250 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque and the other is a 2.3-liter with 280 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque.
