(WXYZ) - Former WXYZ-TV anchorman Jac LeGoff has died at the age of
He was a fixture on WXYZ's newscasts during the 1970s and early
1980s after moving over from WJBK-TV, where he worked as anchorman
and news director after joining the station in 1953.
LeGoff began his career in 1948 after serving in the Navy during
World War II. He completed his education at Columbia College in
Chicago before joining the NBC affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio as a
After leaving WXYZ, LeGoff served as editorial director and news
anchor at WDIV before retiring in 1990.
LeGoff was a former member of east side Kiwanis Club and a
former board member of Sacred heart Rehabilitation Center in
Detroit. At the time of his death he was a member of the National
Academy of Radio and Television Arts and Sciences.
LeGoff is survived by his wife of 42-years, Marguerite, and a
blended family of seven children and numerous grandchildren and
