The family of 26-year-old Devin Glass is speaking out for the first time, as they prepare to file a lawsuit over his sudden death.

Michelle Glass Winters, Devin's mother, says her son died while in police custody earlier this month, and his family has received no answers.

Glass, a father of 3, was arrested by River Rouge Police and allegedly complained he was hurt along with coughing up blood. He had been involved in a bar fight at the Touch of Class nightclub earlier in the night.

Now, Michigan State Police have launched an investigation into what took place and the events leading up to Devin's death.

7 Action News has also learned the Medical Examiner still hasn't completed an autopsy.

Attorney David A. Robinson is now representing the family and says this tragedy is no accident. He says police made a conscious choice to transport Devin to their jail, rather than to the hospital.

He adds that decision is the reason Devin was found dead at the police station.

So far, Michigan State Police aren't commenting and River Rouge Police have refused to talk.
