DETROIT (WXYZ) - $9.6 million-- that's how much money federal prosecutors want Kwame Kilpatrick and Bobby Ferguson to pay back to the city of Detroit in restitution.
Kilpatrick is set to be sentenced on Thursday. Ferguson will now face the judge to learn his fate on Friday.
The feds say $9.6 million reflects the minimum profits from city contracts that Kilpatrick illegally steered to his friend.
Ferguson has also already agreed to forfeit millions of dollars in equipment, property, and investments accounts.
A jury convicted Detroit's former mayor and Ferguson of racketeering, bribery and extortion charges in March.
Federal prosecutors are asking that the judge put Kilpatrick in prison for at least 28 years, and they want a similar punishment for Ferguson.
