Turkia Mullin wants more money in connection to her firing from her job as Wayne County Airport CEO

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Former Wayne County Airport CEO Turkia Mullin was awarded more than $700,000 in back wages after she was fired from that job-- and now she wants more money, according to a new court filing.

Mullin wants more than $90,000 for penalties related to the caseā€¦ and wants her attorney to be given more than $22,000 in legal fees.

The new filing surprised the Airport Authority board which agreed to binding arbitration and already have paid Mullin the money owed in back wages.

This is not the first controversy involving Mullin.

The 7 Action News Investigators first exposed how she  got a two hundred thousand dollar severance to voluntarily leave a top job working for Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano. And she did that to take a higher paying job as the Airport Board CEO.

Mullin's request for more money could allow the airport authority to ask the judge to vacate the entire arbitration decision say legal experts.

The board has not yet responded to the new court filing.
