According to the MBA, bridge traffic during each month of 2015 was higher compared to 2014.

"The improving economy is likely the largest factor driving this increase in traffic, with low fuel prices, our special events, and travel advertising contributing as well," MBA Executive Secretary Bob Sweeney said in a release. "While it's too soon to determine whether this represents a long-term trend for the bridge, it's very encouraging news moving forward."

In January, 176,277 vehicles cross the bridge, up 11.4 percent from January 2014. The largest change was in September when 442,402 vehicles crossed the bridge, up 16 percent.

The highest number of vehicles came during peak season in July and August, when 566,995 and 569,468 vehicles crossed the bridge.

In all, 3,914,361 vehicles crossed the bridge in 2015, up from 3.644,612 in 2014.
