MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — It’s a family's worst nightmare. Intruders busting into your home, guns in hand, demanding money. It happened to a Madison Heights family not once but twice this year.

The mother and son are still shaken up and fear for their lives and did not want to give their names after this terrifying incident. They say they’re glad to still be alive knowing very well this could have ended differently.

“I was just scared because I didn’t want nothing to happen to my Mom,” said the teenage son.

His Mother adding, “After like a few a seconds, I see the three people come to my face and they put the gun to my head."

The mother says three men burst into their home near Palmer Street and 11 Mile Road around 10 o'clock Saturday night.

“Just me and my son at home, because my husband and my kids were working. So I was by myself, me and my son,” she said.

The Mother says two of the intruders pointed guns at her head.

“They told me where’s the money, where’s the money. He told me if you move, if you do anything we’re going to kill you,” she said.

Her son was playing video games when he heard a loud noise and went to check it out.

“I heard a really loud noise, so I just ran out the room, went into the kitchen and I seen them aiming a gun at my mom,” the teen said.

This isn’t the first time this family had this happen. Back in February, they say intruders broke in demanding the same thing – cash.

“The first happened on February 21, he came to my house but I wasn’t there. He took all the money and all the stuff from my house,” the Mother said.

The family says they don’t know why they are being targeted and say they are moving out of the home soon and hope they can find a place where they feel safe and secure. Madison Heights is investigation and if you have any information call police.
