MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Madison Heights man is in facing several charges after allegedly stabbing his mother and stepfather during an argument on Friday, Dec. 11.

Christopher McKinney, 28, was living with his 66-year-old mother and 71-year-old stepfather when the incident occurred. There was an argument and McKinney allegedly produced a knife and stabbed his parents, police say.

The mother and stepfather were treated on the scene then taken to a local hospital. The stepfather has since died from his wounds.

When officers were attempting to arrest McKinney, they say he resisted while trying to assault them and spit on them. He was arrested and is charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder and two counts of assaulting, resisting and obstructing police.

McKinney's bond was set at $510,000. Since McKinney's stepfather died from his injuries, the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office is expected to upgrade his charges.
