Man accused of drunk driving in fatal Rochester Hills crash

A 21-year-old Troy man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash in Rochester Hills on June 10.

Police say around 12:19 a.m., Alexander Munch was driving eastbound on South Boulevard when the car drove left of center and through a ditch, striking a utility pole. The front seat passenger, Talon Dawson, was killed in the crash.

William Cassell, the rear seat passenger, is hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police say all three men are believed to be co-workers at a local restaurant.

Munch has been charged with one count of operating while intoxicated causing death, a 15-year felony, and one count of operating while intoxicated causing injury, a 5-year felony.

He was given a $50,000 cash bond with conditions of no alcohol use with daily testing, no driving, must have a GPS tether attached and house arrest.
