DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police say a wanted suspect who allegedly walked into a Project Green Light restaurant, ordered food, ate and then robbed the place has turned himself into police.
The robbery happened on Detroit's west side on Nov. 22.
At around 5:30 p.m., Ramon Wilson, 40, allegedly went to the restaurant in the 2800 block of W. Grand Blvd. Shortly after eating, Wilson allegedly approached the cashier and demanded money. The cashier handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot.
After the story became prominent in the media, police say the suspect recognized himself and surrendered to officers at the Third Precinct.
Wilson was arraigned and charged with armed robbery. He received a $50,000 bond at 10%.
Wilson is expected to appear in court again on Dec. 2.
