(WXYZ) — A man is now jailed after allegedly making terroristic threats against the Monroe County Sheriff's Office due to a pending Friend of the Court hearing, authorities said.

The sheriff's office became aware of the threats made on social media on Jan. 2. Allegedly the suspect threatened to blow up the building if the sheriff's office didn't send someone to arrest him by Jan. 13, 2021. The suspect then said he'd kill anyone who attempted to arrest him and that his statement should be taken as a terrorist threat.

The sheriff's department was later able to identify the suspect as a 37-year-old man from Gaylord with ties to the Monroe County area.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office responded to the suspect's home and arrested him. He's now at the Otsego County Jail. His identity is being withheld pending arraignment.
