WYANDOTTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Trenton man was arrested over the week after police found him crawling around in storm drains in Wyandotte.

In their "week in review" social post, the Wyandotte Police Department shared a rather bizarre encounter.

An officer responded to a call of someone tampering with manhole lids and found a lid half open at the scene. The officer looked inside the drain and saw a man dressed in a neon green hoodie.

Police say the officer told the man to come out of the storm drain, but the man "froze up as if he couldn't be seen if he didn't move."

The man climbed out of the drain shortly after, but refused to disclose why he was in the drain or give up his identity.

There were "several beer cans around the manhole lid" and the officer said he smelled alcohol on the man's breath.
