HAZEL PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — The suspect who stabbed a woman to death in her Hazel Park home was charged Saturday morning, according to the 43rd District Court.

Oakland County prosecutors charged 36-year-old Benjamin Forrest Wozniak with first degree murder-life felony. Wozniak was denied bond after his arraignment at the 43rd District Court.

On Thursday, Jan. 10, Hazel Park Police responded to a residence for a welfare check and found 37-year-old Nathalie Urso dead in what appeared to be a homicide. Before this, Center Line Police were called to a home after a woman -- Wozniak's current girlfriend -- contacted them saying her boyfriend -- believed to be Wozniak -- was acting suspicious after being at Urso's home in Hazel Park.

Wozniak's current girlfriend brought him to the victim's home, where he stayed for a short period of time. Police say Wozniak and Urso had a "domestic relationship" and still lived together.

Wozniak is due back in court on Jan. 22.
