A 25-year-old man has been sentenced in the death of his 4-year-old daughter, Aaliyah Canada.
Demar Canada had been convicted of abusing the child who was found unresponsive in his Taylor home on May 24, 2015.
A judge sentenced Canada to six years in prison.
A medical examiner determined that the child's death was directly related to brain trauma caused on the child in 2011. Canada admitted shaking and banging the child's head when she was an infant.
She had been incapacitated and on a feeding tube before passing away in 2015.
