The man who will go down in history as the person who threw the first octopus onto the ice at the new Little Caesars Arena during a Detroit Red Wings game was fined $225, according to court records.

Nick Horvath, of Windsor, was ticketed by Detroit Police after he snuck in the creature and let it fly at the home opener.

The 30-year-old was found guilty of disorderly conduct.

Horvath told the Windsor Star that he plans to stay away from the arena for a year on his own accord.

“I’m going to wait a year just to be safe,” Horvath told the newspaper. “If I get in trouble within 12 months and something happens, I’ll be in pretty deep (expletive). I’m just going to wait it out. That way I play it safe and I’ll be good to go. I don’t have to worry. I don’t want to go over there and have a beer and get fired up and then one thing leads to another and next thing I can’t cross the border anymore.”
