Man shot and killed after verbal altercation on Detroit's east side

Detroit police say a 65-year-old man has died after he was shot following a verbal altercation on the city's east side late Wednesday morning.

The fight started at a soup kitchen. The victim left in a vehicle and was followed by the shooting suspect.

A person in the burgundy van opened fire on the white work van.

The passenger in the white van was shot in the neck and was taken to the hospital in a police scout car. The driver of the white van and was not shot.

Police say the incident began at Mack and Conner, about a mile away before it ended at Shoemaker and Conner, near Chandler Park.

Right now, police are searching for the driver of the burgundy van and are canvassing the area for surveillance video.
