In order to improve safety for workers and motorists, the Michigan Department of Transportation is suspending work and lifting traffic restrictions wherever possible for the Fourth of July holiday.
The lane restrictions will be removed on about two-thirds of Michigan road and bridge projects to ease delays for holiday travelers, according to a release from the department.
Beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, and continuing until 6 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 86 out of 131 projects statewide will have lane restrictions removed.
