LANSING, Mich. - A key provision of President Obama's health care law could be in trouble in Michigan.
The Republican-led Legislature does not support Medicaid expansion, which would extend coverage to hundreds of thousands of Michigan residents.
Some in the GOP, however, are open to expanding the health insurance program if there are changes made to it. Among those changes are making more participants pay co-pays.
Advocates for the poor argue that this would be an unaffordable change.
In June, the Supreme Court ruled that states cannot be mandated to participate in Medicaid expansion.
