Memorial trees, plaques vandalized at park in Rockwood

Family members offer cash reward for information

ROCKWOOD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Rockwood police need your help finding the people responsible for damaging several memorial trees and plaques at Mercure Park totaling thousands of dollars.

In a Facebook post, the department wrote: "On Sunday, April 21st, the department took a report regarding the vandalism. Several thousands of dollars of damage was reported. The damage occurred between 3PM and 5PM on Easter Sunday."

The park is a destination for kids and athletes, filled with memorial trees and plaques.

There were 12 plaques in all, each one keeping the memory of a loved one alive. They were ripped off their bases. A few trees were damaged, too.

Family members are offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
