It's a crime of opportunity waiting on many doorsteps this time of year. A surveillance camera from a home in Harper Woods captured a blue mini-van pulling up and two men getting out, stealing packages.
Allen Moen said the men stole stereo equipment and other holiday gifts that were delivered moments earlier.
"I'm hoping that getting these guys faces out there -- somebody will recognize them and give Harper Woods P.D. a call and let'em know, because these guys are out there doing Christmas shopping the wrong way," Alan Moen said.
Police are warning about the so-called porch pirates who are on the prowl, looking for unsuspecting shoppers who trust the packages will be on the porch when they get home.
Police say the safest bet is to make alternative arrangements like having items delivered to your work if you're not going to be home or asking a neighbor for help.
