The 17-year-old track star and good Samaritan who was injured helping the victims of a crash on I-96 in April has taken his first steps with a prosthesis.

Sean English tweeted out a video of his progress today, writing: "First steps! What a surprise I was able to get a leg to learn with this early. Looking forward to getting my own prosthetic and doing more"

In June, the Shriners organization drove English to Chicago to get his custom prosthesis.

English had to have part of his leg amputated after another driver slammed into the crash site where he was trying to help victims.

The other good Samaritan who stopped to help, Dr. Cynthia Ray, was also hurt in the secondary crash and later died from her injuries.
