Ditch home-cooked dishes and eat out on Thanksgiving instead. Many restaurants in our area are offering special Turkey Day meals.

The Moose Preserve Bar and Grill on Woodward near West Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills is one of them.

They will be offering a traditional turkey meal, along with other special dishes.

Executive Chef Bryan Coudret of Moose Preserve Bar & Grill said, “It is the busiest day of the year and over the years it’s gotten busier and busier.”

The restaurant has been offering special Turkey day meals for more than 20 years!

They already have 1,000 reservations booked, from a table for two to 50.

“They don’t want to go through the whole production of cooking a whole turkey.”

Around 700 folks will likely order a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings like cornbread, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, vegetables and cranberry sauce.

The other 300 can pick from a wide variety of healthy salads, salmon dishes, ribs, fish tacos, etc.

Remember to make room for dessert!

“We really try to concentrate on the comfort food.”

“Comfort” it is, because you don’t end up with a messy kitchen to clean up.

Moose Preserve’s sister restaurants will also be open, including White Horse Inn, Camp Ticonderoga and Deadwood Bar & Grill.

TripSavvy.com has put out a list of 7 Metro Detroit restaurants open for Thanksgiving.

Moose Preserve’s executive chef says it’s just easier to go out for the holiday.

“Have a good, homemade meal. They don’t have to do the dishes. They don’t have to do the cleanup,” Coudret explained. “Spend time with their family without having to do all the work.”

It’s important to call ahead of time and make reservations because many restaurants say they are booking up fast.
