State Senator Virgil Smith will face a judge and possible jail time today.
The 35-year-old Democratic senator from Detroit made a plea deal in the case linked to an altercation with his ex-wife.
She discovered him with another woman last spring. He shot at his ex-wife’s 2015 Mercedes-Benz with a rifle. Fortunately, no one was shot during the incident.
The senator pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of property.
This morning, we’re hearing he could face 5 years probation with the first 10 months in jail.
He will also have to resign his seat in the Michigan Senate.
