Dana Nessel, a Democratic candidate for Michigan attorney general, released a controversial campaign ad where she told voters to elect more women.

In the advertisement, she asked, "Who can you trust most not to show you their penis in a professional setting? Is it the candidate who doesn't have a penis? I'd say so."

The ad flashed headlines behind her about sex scandals involving male politicians.

"I will not sexually harass my staff, and I won't tolerate it in your workplace either," she said.

Michigan Republicans said the ad exploited the sexual harassment crisis.

"Sexual harassment is not a laughing matter," said Sarah Anderson, communications director for the Michigan Republican Party. "In a crisis, a leader fights for what is right, they don't exploit a crisis for personal gain."
