A former employee of Centria Healthcare, the largest provider of autism services in Michigan, from Swartz Creek is accused of billing for services that were never performed.

Christine Leonard, 52, of Swartz Creek, has been charged with two felony counts of Medicaid False Claim.

“Billing for services not rendered is fraud, pure and simple. Billing for therapy not provided to an autistic child is particularly intolerable,” said Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette.

The investigation conducted by Schuette's Health Care Fraud Division revealed allegations that Centria received billing and treatment records from Leonard documenting care provided to a child that were forged. Some of these treatment sessions allegedly never took place.
